We spent much of the evening deep in conversation about all things art, craft and creativity and almost two years on recently spent a most excellent day at my house as part of Bob’s month long peregrinations around the UK out of Canada.

Bob is something of a genius in the art of wood-turned platonic solids and I thought I’d display them for your inspection here.

A fine time was spent in further conversation, Guinness-imbibing, chatter and holding forth on our respective arts - ie. I banged on a bit about drawing and the like and he bewildered me with his knowledge of mathematical forms, wood-turning magic and icosidodecahedrons.

Below is a small selection of what Bob turned up with in his hold-all.

Kindly note that the polyhedral shapes contain a freely moving interior identical polyhedron within, with a spike extending from each face out through the holed outer faces, and are produced from a single block of wood by clever use of a lathe and requisite tools.

Magnificent indeed.

I’ll be knocking out my arts today and tomorrow from the streets of Brixton at the Urban Art Fair on Josephine Avenue.

Come browse 150 exhibitors’ work, eat a piece of food, drink a glass of drink, and maybe even pop round the corner to the Lambeth Country Show to observe a kestrel in flight or dance to some popular music later on.

I’ll be there today and tomorrow parked up with Prince Sugarnips himself Agamemnon Otero and tousle-haired Megadude Oliver Shaw, lounging on our garden chairs waiting for you to arrive with the canapes and boiled sweets.

Here are the pictures what I done as part of MuTate Britain and the Mutoid Waste Company’s ‘Unfairground’ field at Glastonbury this year.

Big thanks to them for getting me in and being all round awesome.

Unfortunately I didn’t get it together to photograph much of anything at Glastonbury this year but you should be able to find more images of the Unfairground online soon, featuring the work of Joe Rush, Sam Haggarty, Teddy Baden, Dotmasters, Shepard Fairey and plenty others too…
